When asked if she'd do it, Sarandon responded, "Depending on what they wanted me to do. I'm not really a singer, so I wouldn't be very out there. I'm a terrible singer. But I'm flattered they want to do it. I don't really have a TV, but when I was on location in New Orleans, I saw it Glee and I was very moved and I thought it was really well done and fun. I liked it. I can't say I've seen a lot of the episodes. I'll wait for the boxed set."
Opening today (September 10th) is the third installment of the Resident Evil films, Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D, starring Mila Jovovich, Ali Larter and Wentworth Miller. The film follows Alice, played by Jovovich, as she continues her battle against Umbrella Corp. this time with an old friend at her side. But when they arrive at a rumored safe haven in Los Angeles, all Alice and her friends find is a city overrun with zombies and a plan to trap her that's been put into play.
Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D is rated R and has a running time of 1 hour and 40 minutes. The film was directed by Paul W.S. Anderson.
Wentworth Miller says the film will take you for a ride, if you're willing: "Not only do you get chills, spills, thrills, you also get really interesting believable relatable characters. Characters that you can live vicariously through, I mean not for a moment are you, an audience member, are going to want to experience what Alice or Claire or Chris is experiencing but it's a hell of a ride if you decide to go along."
Mila Jovovich explains why she returned to the role of Alice: "I'm attached to her now, I'm attached to the story, where it's gonna go, you know, we're always excited writing these new scripts like wondering what's gonna happen to everybody and where this is gonna take us. Now I feel like in a sense it's family and I think it's really just become such a huge part of my world and the training process and being able to go through all these adventures. I mean, it's a lot of fun."
Ali Larter on Alice and Claire's relationship: "I think one of the things about Alice and Claire is that they're fighters, they will survive at all costs, so when you see them interact and there's this amazing meeting of the two in the beginning of the film, it's dirty and it's hardcore, both of us love to do our own stunts we do as much as we can and part of the fun in this movie is the physicality that comes with it."
The following clips are from Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D:

You can put the Katie Holmes pregnancy rumors on hold for the moment. Despite the constant media speculation that she's pregnant or trying to get pregnant with a second child, Katie says it's not happening -- anytime soon at least.
Mrs. Tom Cruise told Marie Claire magazine, "Maybe in a couple of years, but right now I want to make sure I'm really there for Suri. I'm the youngest in my family -- my closest sister is five years older than me, and the next one is nine years ahead of me, so I was a bit of an only child, and I liked it! I liked having all of my mom's attention, and sometimes I think I still do."
IS KATIE A DIVA?
In other news, Katie Holmes got a taste of the diva-report treatment after the New York Post ran a piece about her entitled behavior at the premiere party for The Romantics.
After a "pushy woman" got close to the actress, the Post claims she asked to be moved into a more private area. She was overheard saying to a friend, "I had to tell that girl off. She was obnoxious!"
Susan Boyle is either a diva or a crybaby, or maybe both. TMZ reports that the singing sensation stormed off the set of America's Got Talent in tears after being told she couldn't sing the song she wanted.
The website reported that Boyle flew to Los Angeles earlier this week to perform "Perfect Day" on the show, however at the last minute she was told that the song choice was being axed because its writer, Lou Reed, refused to grant permission for its use.
TMZ.com claimed that Reed refused the request because he doesn't like Susan. When informed of Reed's decision, Boyle reportedly "dissolved in tears" because she wasn't prepared to change her performance.
Reed's reps claim that was not the case. They explained that that due to a glitch, the song was not cleared for the American market in time for the show -- something that had nothing to do with Reed.
Susan's rep released a statement: "Susan was due to perform a chosen song from her new album 'The Gift' on 'America's Got Talent' in Los Angeles. It is with real disappointment and regret that she has been unable to do so due to unforeseen circumstances relating to the song. Susan is very disappointed as she had been looking forward to it immensely. She is now on a plane heading back to London with a heavy heart," the statement continued. "Susan really looks forward to being able to perform her new songs very soon."
American Idol star Crystal Bowersox recently discovered that police and court agencies violated her privacy last year while she was competing on the Fox hit.
RadarOnline.com reported that more than six employees checked her confidential records last spring. Upon learning of the privacy breach, Crystal told her hometown newspaper, The Toledo Blade, "You feel violated. But I guess it comes with the territory."
She added, "Its completely disgusting that someone would do that to anyone. Not just a celebrity, but anyone. I'm not really sure what their motive was. Part of this whole American Idol thing and being thrown into a spotlight, people are going to get curious. But I don't think any of the people who participated in it would have wanted it to happen to them or their family member. That's disgusting. What if somebody went and did that to their child or sister? Its really saddening and disappointing."
Crystal received a formal letter of apology from Ohio Department of Public Safety in July, but her father didn't tell her the news until she recently returned from the show's summer tour.
Matthew Morrison is hoping to release his debut album in less than six months. The Glee star told the Hollywood Reporter that he's fitting in recording sessions between episodes of the Fox hit in preparation for a February 2011 release.
He said, "I'm about three-quarters of the way done with the album. During our hiatus was the big chunk of putting it together -- it's full-time 'Glee' right now. I'm trying to do it on the weekends."
However, he doesn't feel like his acting job is taking away from his singing career, since "'Glee' is promotion of the album."
Morrison described the album's sound as eclectic, explaining it's "a lot of stuff that you would find on the adult contemporary charts, but stuff that I hope you'll hear in the club and you can dance to."
He said that he hopes to tour once the album is done.
Kat Von D is not pregnant with Jesse James' baby. A rep for the LA Ink star responded to internet speculation stemming from a photo of Kat possibly sporting a baby bump.
Her rep told People magazine, "They've only been dating for a few weeks. She is not pregnant. That's absolutely absurd."
Despite the short length of their romantic relationship, things appear to be getting serious. A source recently told People that Jesse is over his divorce from Sandra Bullock, explaining, "It sure looks like he's moved on. It doesn't look like he's hiding anything now."
The insider added, "My guess is that he's realizing he won't get another chance with Sandra and has given up on that. Jesse and Kat have known each other for a while. I think the opportunity presented itself with neither of them being involved with anyone and it happened."
Lindsay Lohan is apparently ready to face the tough questions about her lifestyle. RadarOnline.com reports that the recently-rehabbed starlet is in talks to appear on the Oprah Winfrey Show during its final season.

A Lohan source added, "Several entities are being considered (for an interview), and no decision has been made and won't be for awhile." That source noted that it was Oprah's team who initiated the talks.
DINA LOHAN'S HOUSE EGGED
In other news, TMZ.com reports that Dina Lohan's Long Island home has been vandalized twice in the past couple of weeks.

Spencer Pratt has issued a public apology to his fans and his estranged wife Heidi in the wake of their recent sex tape scandal and impending divorce.
He tweeted on Wednesday, "I need to apologize to Heidi and my 11.5 fans. I'm an epic douche -- and you deserve better."
Pratt told People magazine earlier in the day, "Divorce can be a trying, draining, and emotionally devastating experience for all involved. Despite these hardships, most individuals manage to conduct themselves with dignity and maturity. I did not -- I failed spectacularly."
Despite filing for divorce, fighting over the release of a sex tape and countless comments to the press -- some people still believe Spencer and Heidi's antics are just a publicity stunt they're in on together.
