The NC A&T chapter of the Undergraduate Student National Dental Association will be hosting our 2nd annual 5K Walk/Run for Oral Cancer Awareness. It will be held on NC A&T SU's campus. Registration will begin at 7:45 AM
and the actual event will begin at 9 AM
. There will be live entertainment, free oral cancer screenings, and a variety of vendors at this event.

Eighth Annual Walk to Remember - Hospice of Rockingham County
Hospice of Rockingham County’s (HRC) Hospice Doves will hold their Eighth Annual Walk to Remember on Saturday, April 26th
on the Walking Trail at the Upper Piedmont Research Station at Chinqua Penn Plantation.
Participants are asked to donate or raise a minimum of $25.00 each. Proceeds from the walk benefit HRC’s uninsured and under insured patients.

Drive To Feed Others
Please see the attached. We are announcing the first ever Chief Express Classic Car Cruise-In “The drive to feed others” The date is Saturday April 26 from 9 am-2 pm. We have partnered with Pottery Road Café and Grill in Asheboro, NC. We are expecting as many as 100 cars to be on display that day. If you like hot rods and classic cars come by for a great cause. Chief Team Members will have our “Fill the Truck Campaign” there collecting canned goods to benefit our local food pantry. Food and drink will be available for purchase from the Pottery Road Café & Grill (Grill items to home cooked meals) all day.
To enter a car it is 10 cans of food.

ma Cares Hosts Toy Drive for Kids Cattling Cancer
ma Cares is holding a toy drive throughout the month of April as well as a collection day at Walmart (3738 Battleground Ave, Greensboro, NC 27410) on Saturday, May 3rd from 11-2! New toys collected will support a program of Kids of Childhood Cancer Foundation that provides toys to children receiving cancer treatments to help take their minds off of their illness. Through April 30th, Build-A-Bear and Toys & Co., both located at Friendly Center in Greensboro will have donation boxes out in their stores. Special Olympics Ride
The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office along with The Enforcers Law enforcement motorcycle club is putting on a bike ride on May 3rd for the North Carolina Special Olympics. All proceeds will go to the North Carolina Special Olympics. $20.00 per bike and $25.00 with a passenger meal and tee shirt included. Carving for the Cure
Outdoor Equipment Distributors, Inc., a wholesale distributor of outdoor power equipment, including ECHO hand-held equipment, announces the Second Annual “Carving for the Cure” event which takes place May 1 – 3, 2014 at the Piedmont Triad Farmers Market in Colfax, North Carolina.Thirteen carvers from around the country, including Colfax’s own Randy Everett, will create pieces of art from blocks of wood using chain saws and hand tools. Spectators can watch the carvers sculpt on May 1 and 2 from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm and on May 3 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. Sculptures will be auctioned off on Saturday, May 3 at 1:00 pm along with machine-made quilts to raise money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. Last year “Carving for the Cure” raised over$5,000 which provided 50 free mammograms for women who may not have been able to afford them otherwise. In addition to the live auction on Saturday, there will be raffles that run from Thursday through Saturday at 12:00 pm with the proceeds going to the cancer organization.The local Susan G. Komen chapter will be present to accept cash donations as well. The “Carving for the Cure” event will provide entertainment for your entire family. Caesar Fitness is hosting a charity event on May 31st. Complete Nutrition, one of our sponsors for the event, will be in attendance as well. Mebane Woman's Club Casino Night
The Mebane Woman's Club (MWC) is seeking donations of unique items for both a live and a silent auction for its annual fundraiser that will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2014. This year's theme is "The Wild Side." As in years past, this will be a casino night and auction – but with a wild new twist! This year, the event will be held at the Conservators' Center, just north of Mebane. The Center is home to almost 90 exotic animals, including 30 big cats. Proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Center's Animal Care Fund and the MWC General fund. All donations and sponsorships are tax deductible as both organizations are of a 501-c3 status.
