Friday Night Live, Grades 5-8

Send your tweens and teens off to the Robinhood Road Family YMCA for a fun night with the safety of our supervision. Activities will include sports tournaments, a moonbounce, games in the Youth Center and a dance room! Admission can be paid at the door and is $6 for members and $8 for non-members. Concessions will also be sold at the event. For youth in grades 5-8 Save the date! Friday, September 19 – 7:30-10:30pm

Austin Doub Fund Day for Muscular Dystrophy

Red Bank Missionary Baptist Church is holding our 14th annual Austin Doub Fun Day to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy on Sunday, Sept. 21st from 3:00 - 7:00 pm. This is a free event to attend. There will be a silent auction with many items to bid on, games for the kids (free), bake sale, car show, concessions, and special music by Taylor Vaden and Chelsea Sorrell. Earlier.org – Friends for an Earlier Breast Cancer Test® is hosting its 19th annual Gathering of Friends fundraising event. This year’s luncheon event will be held at 11:30 AM on September 22, 2014 at the Joseph S. Koury Convention Center in Greensboro, North Carolina. The event will feature lunch, a research update and a keynote address from Sylvia Hatchell, University of North Carolina’s (Chapel Hill) Hall of Fame Head Women’s Basketball Coach of 30 years.  One of the most decorated coaches in the history of Women’s Basketball, Coach Hatchell missed the entire 2013-2014 season while undergoing treatment for acute myeloid leukemia.  She has successfully completed treatment and is preparing for the 2014-2015 basketball season.

The Bike MS: VF Corporation and Wrangler Tour to Tanglewood is a 2-day cycling event in Clemmons, NC that raises funds to support people living with multiple sclerosis. Money raised through this event funds MS research, programs, services, and advocacy.
Festivities at Tanglewood Park include team village, live music, hot food, cold beverages, silent auction, and a kids zone!
Bike MS will take you further than you’ve ever gone before. It’s not the miles that matter — it’s the unforgettable journey. Join us for an event that’s more than a ride — it’s anticipation, camaraderie, personal accomplishment, and the knowledge that you’re changing lives… making every mile that much sweeter. Tanglewood Start - Cyclists who start at Tanglewood Park in Clemmons, NC have multiple route options including 15, 35, 50, 65 or 100 miles on Saturday, and 15, 25, 40, 50 or 65 miles on Sunday. Mountain Bike Trail options are also available at Tanglewood Park.
Concord Start - This brand new route option starts in Concord, and rides to Tanglewood Park in Clemmons on Saturday and returns to Concord on Sunday.

Clydesdale coming to High Point

Providence Place Westchester Village will be doing a fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Association on October 3, 2014 at 630 Whittier Ave from 3-5. THE CLYDESDALE HORSES will be here, we will have refreshments and a dunking booth.  Pictures will be taken with the horses for a small fee.  All monies raised will go toward the Alzheimer’s Association.
 
There will be fun for the whole family.  Bring the kids out so they can feed the horses, take a shot at the dunking booth and get something to eat.

Paws in the Park

Make plans to bring your friends to Paws in the Park at the Tanglewood Festival of Lights (4061 Clemmons Rd., Clemmons, NC 27012) on November 10, 2014 from 4:30-9:00pm. Enjoy dinner at a food truck rodeo, take a stroll through the magical lights, and begin your holiday shopping. This brand new event offers animal lovers a first-ever opportunity to bring their four-legged friends with them to Tanglewood Park for a walk through the enchanted holiday light display. Tickets for Paws in the Park are available for advance purchase. Adult tickets are $20 in advance ($25 at the door), tickets for kids 12 & under are $10, and kids 3 & under and furry children get in free. Paws in the Park will be held in rain or moonshine. All dogs must be on leash and current on vaccinations. No bicycles please. Proceeds from Paws in the Park will be used to rescue, care for, and find loving homes for abandoned cats and dogs.
