Subway and The Salvation Army "Angel Tree" Program

Local SUBWAY® restaurants are working with The Salvation Army and WXLV-TV to fulfill the Christmas wishes of children in the 2014 “Angel Tree” program. Anyone in the community able to help can stop by participating SUBWAY® locations and pick up information on how to donate for a deserving child in the local area. Customers will be directed to a website where they can donate the gifts online.

“2014 has been another difficult economic year for so many families,”said Major James Allison, Area Commander for the Greater Winston-Salem Area Command of The Salvation Army. “With the statewide effort through local SUBWAY® owners, we anticipate being able to help even more families this Christmas.”

“Our work with the Salvation Army has grown over the years, and we’re pleased to be able to support our neighbors in need,” Debra Overby, local owner of SUBWAY® restaurants. “The generosity of our customers and employees makes the Angel Tree campaign successful and for that we thank them.”

ma Cares Saves Animals in Need

According to ASPCA.org, each year approximately 7.6 million companion animals enter animal shelters.  Sadly, approximately 2.7 million of these are euthanized.
Here in Greensboro, Red Dog Farm Animal Rescue Network works to rescue and rehabilitate neglected, abused or otherwise unwanted animals in and around Guilford County, with a focus on domestic farm animals.  However, what happens when they’re presented with adog that has a bladder stone or a horse whose eaten rocks to survive?  Will they have the resources to save them?
Earlier this year, ma Cares started a relief fund to give sick or injured animals in the care of Red Dog Farm Animal Rescue Network a second chance at life.  Since its inception, 12 animals have been nursed back to health and many have found their forever homes.

There are many other animals that need our help.  Your support may save a life!  Donate today at www.macares.org.  Just email us at wecare@macares.org to let us know that your support is for Red Dog Relief by ma Cares!  Checks may be made payable to ma Cares and mailed to 1302 Pleasant Ridge Rd. Greensboro, NC 27409, Attn: Red Dog Relief.
Together we can give sick and injured animals a second chance at life.  To learn more visit http://www.macares.org/our-projects/red-dog-farm-animal-rescue-network.

Leaksville -Spray ballfield fundraiser

I am raising money to get a Baseball field (pinto size) for a elementary school in our community.  In this particular school there are over 80% of the children receiving financial assistance to get school supplies and the ability to eat meals. The need for financial assistance is very present.
I wish to help make the day brighter for them by building a ball field for play and educational reasons.
Please join me in my efforts! http://www.gofundme.com/e5w0i4
