Jared Pike picks the scores for weekly high school football games.

State Championships

This is what it has all come down to, this is what all the training, all the two-a-day practices are for, this is what makes all the sweat, the pain, and the hard work worth it.  A chance to be forever known as the best, a chance to be State Champions.  Four Triad teams have the chance to become champions this weekend and to find out who will bring home the titles let’s go to the match-ups.

The Eastern Alamance Eagles are back in the State Title game for the 2nd year in a row and they are out for revenge.  Last year they lost to West Rowan by a touchdown and face them again this year.  Can Eastern Alamance avenge last year’s loss and bring home the title?  Pike's Picks - Eastern Alamance  beats West Rowan for the title 24 - 20.

The Carver Yellow Jackets take on  Tarboro High  as they try to win their first title since 2002.  Can the Yellowjackets and first year Head Coach Melvin Palmer bring home the goods?  Pike's Picks:  Carver over Tarboro 28 - 21.

The only people that thought the Davie County War Eagles could win a state title this year, was the Davie County War Eagles.  And after a 5 and 6 regular season, even the War Eagles had to doubt their own chances.  However they have gotten hot at the right time and are 4 quarters away from the completion of a dream season.  Can they do it?  Pike's Picks:  Davie County wins one for the underdogs as they beat Hillside High 21 –18.

The Northern Guilford Nighthawks (Falcon) have been picked to lose in their last 3 playoff games and nothing has changed for the state championship game. Can they pull off another upset? Pike's Picks:  I picked the Northern Guilford Nighthawks to win a state title at the beginning of the year and I have not changed my mind.  Northern Guilford beats Crest  35 – 23.
