Heaven's Day Ride
Join Totally Committed Ministries and The Sons of Thunder Bike Ministry July 27th 2013 as we celebrate life with Heaven!! Heaven Cobler is a beautiful 13 year old girl from Axton VA. On November 25th 2011 she was diagnosed with an adult form of Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Since then she's had 120 rounds of chemo, 100+ blood and platelet 12+ bone marrow biopsies, and daily breathing treatments for 6 hours. They gave them two options. Take her home and make her comfortable or let them search for a treatment that would work. Her and her mother have been in the Ronald McDonald House in Durham, NC for going on four and a half months where three and a half has been spent confined to her room, but the wonderful thing is, they can still look at each other, say "I love you" and know that they still count on each other for strength.. Doctors are hoping that she will be able to return home by the time of this event. We picked the date of July 27th because its Heaven's 14th birthday. The doctors have done some engraftments and we just pray the host fades and goes away. We are going to meet at 1215A Shana Lane Asheboro NC at 09:00 am to register and kick stands up at 10:00am. Depending on her progress the week of the ride will determine the location. If she goes home we will be riding to Axton V.A. If not we will be going to the Ronald McDonald house in Durham N.C. Single riders $15.00 and double riders $20.00(Includes food). If you want to follow behind us in a car you are welcomed to do so, the cost for single person car is $15.00 and two or more is $20.00. If you would like to make a donation please contact Pastor Jeff Looney at 336-302-3986 or Paulette Handy at 336-953-7560 or mail contributions to Totally Committed Ministries at P.O. Box 851 Asheboro, N.C. 27204.. All proceeds go to the Cobler family to help with medical needs for Heaven.
